Aurélie is the face behind “Sous le Cerisier.”

A passionate ceramist, she creates her pieces in the South of France.

For many years, she has been bringing different clays to life — from earthenware to stoneware and porcelain. While nurturing her creativity, the technical demands of these materials challenge her every day. Paradoxically, it is within constraint that her freedom of creation truly unfolds. Today, her heart is drawn to earthenware and the delicate precision of hand modeling. Her collection designs take shape through this malleable and magical clay. With deep sensitivity and a love for detail, Aurélie’s poetic glazes bring a touch of enchantment to each piece she makes.

Her workshop nestles beneath a protective cherry tree planted about twenty years ago, in a valley in the heart of Hérault, near a lake surrounded by red earth.

With one foot in the studio and the other in a garden alive with birdsong, she handcrafts her collections with love and patience, each piece made entirely by hand.
